Project 1

Ancient Textile in Vietnam (2001 – 2011)

Manager : Dr. Nguyen Viet
Funding : Pham Huy Thong foundation

Goals : The project started with successful separating first cloth fabrics excavated 2000 from a dugout waterlogged coffin in Chau Can. The separating technique is developed by CESEAP. The project focus in technology, which permises collecting the textile materials in archaeological waterlogged context and conservating for research and museum display. The project research also micro elements of textile as fibres, weaving, deying, fungies and baterien…as well as ancient custumes basing on archaeological materials.
